If you have found yourself here then I imagine that you, or someone you love, is struggling with their mental health and wellbeing.

Struggling to cope with overwhelming thoughts, feelings, and life experiences, can be really scary, whether you are the person experiencing it, or you are a loved one trying to help.

Living with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and chronic stress is really difficult. However, you don't need to try and figure things out alone

Together we can untangle things, and explore ways in which you can move forwards, armed with insight, self-compassion, and new ways to cope.

Hi, I'm Alex!

I am a fully qualified Dramatherapist (also referred to as a an arts/creative psychotherapist) who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

As a creative arts psychotherapist, I work with young people aged 7-17 and adults over the age of 18, who are struggling with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and traumatic experiences; often, I work with individuals who feel lost, stuck, and are seeking a way to move forwards.

For the past eleven years I have been using my training in theatre, creative writing, and comedy, to help support people with their mental health and wellbeing. I've worked like this because I understand that sometimes how we feel can't be explained through direct conversation alone. As a Dramatherapist I offer a mixture of talking psychotherapy and creativity in sessions, because I know first-hand just how powerful creativity can be in helping us get to the heart of the issue, and make meaning out of our experiences.

Most people I work with tell me that they are surprised at how quickly creative aspects of the therapy have helped them gain insight and move forwards.

Fantasy World

Dramatherapy is effective for people of all ages, and in helping treat a wide range of issues that might bring someone to therapy.

You do not need to consider yourself 'creative', a 'performer', or an 'artist' to engage with Dramatherapy. It isn't like a drama class, and I am always guided by you as to how you'd like to engage in the session.

Dramatherapy can be as simple as using images to help us explore our inner and outer worlds. Take this image, for example, how does it make you feel? Who do you think that is? Would you like to go there? Why? All of this exploration can provide useful insight into who you are, what you want, and what your current challenges are.
